Yoga

The ancient art of healing, toning and rejuvenating the body.

"Yoga" means "union", bringing together the body, mind and soul as a holistic path to health.

"Ha" means sun and "tha" means moon, illustrating the opposing qualities of our breathing, much like yin and yang.

Hatha yoga is practiced through posture and breathing. Mastering yoga helps us tap our latent energies and has a calming influence on our mind. The great thing is that it can be practiced anywhere, anytime.

Yoga consists of breathing exercise, body postures and meditation. This promotes flexibility and concentration, and relaxation of the mind leads to a calming effect which balances and harmonizes the basic structure of the human body. Regular practice replenishes the body with energy, rejuvenates tired muscles and releases stress.

Pilates is a method of exercise and physical movement designed to stretch, strengthen, and balance the body.

Pilates has benefits like increased lung capacity and circulation through deep, healthy breathing. Strength and flexibility, particularly of the abdomen and back muscles, coordination - both muscular and mental, are key components in an effective Pilates program. Posture, balance, and core strength are all heartily increased.

Bone density and joint health improve, and many experience positive body awareness for the first time. Pilates teaches balance and control of the body, and that capacity spills over into other areas of one's life.
